Frequently asked questions
Can't find your answer here? Call us at 210-595-1182 or send a message from the contact page — we're happy to help.
Do you accept my insurance?
We accept most major insurance plans. Coverage varies, so call us at 210-595-1182 and we will verify your benefits before your visit. No insurance? No problem — we offer cash-pay options for office visits and lab testing.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes! We welcome new patients of all ages at both our San Antonio and Pleasanton locations. Call us or use the booking page to get started.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring a photo ID, your insurance card, a list of current medications (or the bottles themselves), and any relevant medical records or recent lab results. Arriving 15 minutes early to complete paperwork helps us keep your visit on time — or download our new-patient forms and fill them out at home.
Do you offer same-day appointments?
We do our best to see sick patients the same day, and same-day telehealth appointments are often available. Call us in the morning for the best chance at a same-day slot.
How do telehealth visits work?
We meet you over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video connection — no special software needed, just a smartphone or computer. Telehealth works well for follow-ups, medication questions, and many common illnesses. Call to schedule and we will send you a link.
What ages do you treat?
All of them. As a family practice we see patients from birth through the senior years — including well-child visits, school physicals, adult wellness exams, and chronic care management.
How much does a sport physical cost?
Sport physicals are $45. If an EKG is required, it can be done in-office for an additional fee.
What do I need for a DOT physical?
Bring your driver’s license, a list of your medications, and glasses/contacts or hearing aids if you use them. If you have a medical condition such as diabetes or high blood pressure, bring recent readings or records from your treating provider to help the exam go smoothly.
What types of medical professionals work at Villa Family Clinic?
Our care team includes experienced family nurse practitioners, a supervising medical director (MD), and a medical assistant — with over 30 years of combined clinical experience, including specialty cardiology care.
What if I have a medical emergency?
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Our clinic is not equipped for emergency care.
